OUR STANCE ON "ORGANIC FOOD"

We farm holistically and organically with NO pesticides or chemicals.

We are members of the Wholesome Food Association which is a local symbol scheme and a low-cost, 'grassroots' alternative to organic certification for people who are growing or producing food for sale in their local region".

WFA principles include:
Wholesome food is grown and processed using sustainable, non-polluting methods as close as possible to those found in nature.
Wholesome food is, wherever possible, traded and consumed within a short distance of where it was grown.
Wholesome food is an integral part of life and community, rather than merely a commodity for profit.

Also just because you are "certified Organic" this doesn't guarantee quality. See links below :

Also we would rather purchase our fruit and vegetables from local businesses rather than shipping "organic" items from overseas. Surely this defeats the purpose if you have to ship the product 4000 miles!

While producers of organic products state that their produce is more sustainable and environmentally sound, it is questioned among specialists and scientists alike. For example with Organic methods, pesticides and herbicides are not used but Nicotine sprays are acceptable?

Remember up until a few years ago, all products were grown organically. Herbicides and Pesticides have only recently been developed.
